Chandigarh to Hemkunt Sahib – A Sikh Pilgrimage of Faith

Begin your spiritual journey early from Chandigarh and drive towards Rishikesh, the gateway to the Himalayas. Upon arrival, visit Gurdwara Shri Hemkunt Sahib Trust to gather information about the pilgrimage. Spend the evening exploring Triveni Ghat or attending the Ganga Aarti for a peaceful experience. Stay overnight in Rishikesh.

Start early and drive towards Govindghat, the base for the Hemkunt Sahib trek. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the mountains and rivers along the way. Upon arrival, check into a hotel or Gurdwara Sahib, take some rest, and prepare for the next day's trek.

After Ardaas at Gurdwara Govindghat Sahib, begin the 13 km trek to Ghangaria, the last stop before Hemkunt Sahib. The journey is filled with breathtaking views of waterfalls and lush greenery. Upon reaching Ghangaria, check into a guesthouse or stay at Gurdwara Shri Ghangaria Sahib and rest for the night.

Start the trek early towards Hemkunt Sahib, the highest Gurudwara in the world, situated at an altitude of 4,632 meters. This sacred site is believed to be the meditation place of Guru Gobind Singh Ji in his previous life. After paying obeisance and experiencing the divine serenity of the glacial lake, begin the descent back to Ghangaria and rest overnight.

Trek back to Govindghat and start your return journey to Rishikesh. Upon arrival, relax and reflect on the spiritual experience. If time permits, visit Gurdwara Sri Nanak Vihar Sahib before resting for the night.
